BEING AUSTRALIAN
A web based research task

Australia is a country rich in the cultures of people from many lands. You may have classmates who have come from somewhere else in the world,  or their family may have been here for many years! Apart from Australia's indigenous people, we have all come from somewhere else.

     

          What contributions to Australia have been made by the many different     

          cultural groups who make up Australia today?

                            We are going on a quest to find out!



You need to select one cultural groupsfrom the list below and prepare a power point presentation identifying how  and what  the  group has contributed to Australia. You could look at:

• When they arrived in Australia
• Why did they come ( because of war, for work etc)
• What aspects of their culture have been become part of our Australian culture?
• Some noteworthy people from each cultural group

 You will use books and some internet sites to collect information. I can recommend the following recent titles for students:
