YOUR TASK:
Using books located in the library and links to information sites (below), you will imagine you are a convict in the First Fleet on your way to Australia.
As this convict, you will keep a diary of your trip and the first days of settlement. You will use the information as a basis for your journal, but you should be descriptive in your entries.
You must consider / include the following:
You may include some sketches / drawings in your journal which must be presented in diary format. Remember, this is 1788 and 'Officeworks' was not established! Be creative!

YOUR TASK:
Using books located in the library and links to information sites (below), you will imagine you are a convict in the First Fleet on your way to Australia.
As this convict, you will keep a diary of your trip and the first days of settlement. You will use the information as a basis for your journal, but you should be descriptive in your entries.

- Name, age, crime and length of sentence
- Living conditions on board - rations, keeping clean and healthy
- What were the first few days like upon arrival? How did you find a place to live? What did you eat? What was expected of convicts?
- How did the local indigenous people react to your arrival?
